The Dan Jansen Foundation is proud to help in the fight against leukemia, support youth sports programs and assist high school seniors in their pursuit of higher education.

Established in 1994, shortly after Dan's remarkable Olympic Gold Medal performance in the 1,000-meter race in Lillehammer, Norway, the Dan Jansen Foundation has contributed more than $125,000 to charitable causes. Below is a list of funds under the DJF umbrella as well as current beneficiaries:


To support the fight against leukemia and its related cancers.

The Dan Jansen Foundation support leukemia research and its related cancers, as well as educational programs that serve to improve the treatment and quality of life of those affected by the deadly disease.

The Dan Jansen Family Aid Fund supports individuals and families based on economic need, family situation and special circumstances.

To provide young people with positive and productive experiences through athletics, to instill a "never give up" attitude, and encouragement to pursue one's dreams.

The Foundation supports a variety of youth sports, in particular speedskating. Non-sports programs and projects dealing with core societal issues for disadvantage youths also are considered for support.

Dan Jansen KIDS ON ICE Program is for children to experience ice skating and learn basic skills at the Pettit National Ice Center.

Dan Jansen Club Program Fund supports local speedskating clubs.

In support of students who display the Dan Jansen spirit toward life, education and overcoming adversity.The Foundation supports high school seniors in their pursuit of higher education.
