2008 Dan Jansen Prep Plus Scholarship
Supported by Boston Store
In cooperation with Preps Plus

Perseverance holds different meanings for different people based on personal life experiences. For Dan Jansen it meant years of training in hopes of obtaining a gold medal for his country as an Olympic speedskater.

In 1988, the world watched in disbelief when Dan fell in the first stretch of the 500-meter race in Calgary, Canada, and again four days later in the 1,000 meter. But Dan Jansen did not give up. He worked hard and tried once more in Albertville, France, at the 1992 Olympics but was unable to reach his goal. His incredible determination and personal integrity brought him to Lillehammer, Norway, for what would be his final Olympic competition in 1994. This time the audience cheered as Dan crossed the finish line capturing a gold medal and the hearts of all who watched.

Dan Jansen, Boston Store and Preps Plus would like to recognize and reward Wisconsin high school students who possess the Never Give Up attitude in their daily lives.

Two $1,000 scholarships for continuing education to Wisconsin high school students (one male and one female) who display the Dan Jansen Spirit toward life, education and overcoming adversity will be awarded.
